Gem Tone^® Lacquer Wiping Stains

Gem Tone Lacquer Wiping Stains are fast drying and are completely compatible with most finishing systems.  These lead free, non-photochemically reactive stains are formulated to enhance the natural beauty of quality hard and soft woods without obscuring the grain patterns.  These stains are intended for use on unpainted wooden surfaces, new interior wood trim, cabinets, paneling, doors and furniture.  Gem Tone is the original formula Lacquer Wiping Stain often favored by many professional painting contractors and manufacturers of millwork, cabinetry and furniture.

Product Preparation & Application

Material Preparation:   Lacquer Stains are ready to use as packaged. Mix thoroughly before and during use. Thinning is not recommended. For the adjustment of stain color #70 Clear Stain Base may be added.

Application:   Lacquer stains can be brushed and wiped, brushed and not wiped, or even sprayed and not wiped with beautiful results! Wiping should take place within ten minutes after application; however, even if allowed to dry, wiping with a rag saturated in thinner can smooth the color. Because they are lacquers, they are always soluble in themselves and they may be sealed with lacquer sealer shortly after application.

Clean-up:   Use #500 Lacquer Thinner to clean all equipment.  Dispose of in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulation regarding pollution.
