Gem Glo® Glaze

gemglo.combo (med).jpg Gem Glo Glaze is a heavy oil-based slow-dry liquid used for accenting and/or distressing wood. Glazes are designed to create custom finishing processes such as faux finishing and accenting crackle finishes. Glazes are normally applied by hand with a rag, leaving glaze in recessed or profiled areas.

Product Preparation & Application


Material Preparation:   Agitate thoroughly before use.

Application:   Stain or prime the wood and allow to thoroughly dry. Apply one seal coat of the system you are using, allow to dry, and scuff sand as normal. Apply glaze and wipe off excess. Allow glaze to dry a minimum of 24 hours, longer in higher humidity or low temperatures. Apply a wash coat made from the desired finishing system. As soon as wash coat is dry to touch, apply one or two topcoats of finish, with proper reduction for the spray equipment used. If two topcoats are applied, scuff sand between topcoats as normal.

Clean-up:   Use Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner to clean all equipment. Dispose of in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulation regarding pollution.
